All 2013 and older Urals use mechanical steering dampers. While it was an effective feature, it does not perform as well as the new hydraulic damper found on the 2014 and newer Urals. The hydraulic damper performs very well during normal on-road operation as well as off-road. It automatically compensates for any changes in the riding conditions, unlike a mechanical damper that you must manually adjust depending on riding conditions.
This is a must-have upgrade!
The kit includes the adjustable hydraulic damper, all the hardware necessary for installation, and detailed installation instructions.

Steering Made Easy
What a difference this hydraulic steering damper makes on my 2006 Ural Patrol. The steering is 100% easier and makes the ride a lot more comfortable and less wobble. No instructions were enclosed, but I was able to find instruction on youtube. I highly recommend this product.

Steering Damper Helped My Ural
When I read that the 2014 Urals had a hydraulic steering damper, I had to get one. My 2009 Sahara Edition has knobby tires and I like the look but found the handling to be a bit "loose" at higher speeds. The damper solved that. I kept the friction damper also and have it adjusted just right for my comfort. Quality of the damper is high and I am happy. No instructions was a surprise, but I found detailed fitting on the web.

Finally a Modern Steering Damper
It was great to see this modern damper available so quickly to the pre-2014 crowd. The only problem I had was the instructions didn't come with it (even after I asked for them) and I had to go on-line and find directions from someone who had already installed one.
